THE HISTORY
Romania, a country that was better known for its orphans. These orphans were discovered by the international media and organizations across the world in 1989 right after the execution of Nicolea Ceausescu and his wife Elana. They were both executed on December 25, 1989 at a middle school where they were held captive for three days while they were put on trial. Some say, that for each bullet the Nicolea received his wife received ten times as he did.
Nicolea believed that Romania needed to increase its population and by doing so he created a law where every women had to have at least five children per house hold.
What you must realize is that Romania was already a poverty country. Families were struggling to take care of their children and themselves.
Every morning hundreds of Romanians waited in line for hours just to be able to buy milk, bread, and meat for the household.
Romania had become such a difficult country to live in because it was very difficult for families to take care of their children. Many ended up putting their children in hospitals, believing they needed special needs; or put them into orphanages, where some families thought it would be more of an educational program which also included housing like a boarding school.
What many of the families did not realize was that orphanages were nothing like boarding schools. They were places for abandoned children. Most of the families never came back to visit them. Maybe it was to difficult for them to see their child in that kind of environment or just did not have the funds to travel back and forth to see their child.
Some were even hidden into the mountains away from the tourist. Why hidden? Ceausescu did not want the world to know that Romania had a such a great population of disabled and abandoned children.
After Ceausescu and his wife were gone , the world thought that the abandonment would have reduced, but instead the population of children being placed into hospitals and orphanages doubled. In 1996, seven years later there were over a hundred and fifty thousand abandoned children and that did not even include the street kids.
Romania had gained a pretty bad reputation for having so many abandoned children and media's across the globe continued finding horrible orphanages that were like prison and children tied up in straight jackets or tied up to something from escaping.
ABC News 20/20, Night Line, and BBC World News, were the most media that had covered stories on Romania and showed the world of how much help the country was needing. The world responded quickly and folks from around the world began traveling to Romania to adopt. The world united and began donating thousands of medical supplies, clothing, educational programs and food supplies to hospitals and orphanages all around Romania. organizations, foundations, doctors, and nurses from Germany, Holland, United States, and Canada began volunteering to work in many orphanages, but for many, it was more difficult then they had realized it would be seeing so many children ready to die because of starvation and malnutrition. Many of the volunteers tried saving the most ill children, but at times not even medicine was able to save them.
Someone once said this, these are no body's children and nobody wants these children.
In the year 2000, England, Germany, Holland, and the United States organizations were forming an alliance to try and close down many of the orphanages because of what many children were going through and how they were being treated. Foster care and group homes would open up and each family taking care of a child would receive an income from the government.
How well did the foster care and group home work out for these children?
More to come soon, had to go to work.

many
staffs did what they could to be able to care for the children and some
gave up and began treating children like they were nothing, children
born with no purpose in life.
What you also have to realize is that most of the staffs were not even trained how to take care of special needs children ranging from mantel, handicap, brain damage and more.
Put your self in the staffs shoes and see how would you raise 100 too 500 children when there are only 50 too 100 staffs employed? its a lot more difficult then we may realize, but that is still no way for any kind of human being to treat any person the way many children in institutional were treated.
If children misbehaved some were beaten
by hard hands, shoes, or what ever they were able to grab at the
moment. But not all the staffs were like that with the children, their
were some angels sent from heaven to protect us from the evil ones.
In
my orphanage we had seven Angeles who were sent to protect us and teach
us the value of life and showed the outside world of the orphanage.
When
people are beaten for several years, they became traumatized and scared
for a long time. In my option, you can over come what you went through within
timing. If someone tells you that you can never over come your fear do
not listen because for each and every day that you wake up their is
always a better day to make a difference in your on life. But in order
for that to work, you have to want to make those changes, One of the ways can over come your struggle is by getting a consular who can help you over what you went through or sometimes it works even better by communicating with one that you can trust and understands you. Believe me when I say this, it dose work talking to someone about your problems because I went through anger, hate, and confusion for more then six years before I finally over came by problems. If you are that angry with your life not to want to make those changes, then sometimes its best if everyone just stayed away from you and not ask any questions because when talking to you can cause you to rage even more just by trying to talk. Don't ask if they need to talk, or if there is something you can do to help them. Sometimes in our most angry moments its best to let it ride it self out and for the most part the person will be fine within a couple of hours or the next day.
If you allow anger and hate to build in you, you will explode in full rage and will not be able to control your self because your mind is so full of anger that I am not even sure you realize your own action. There are many kids teenagers, and even young adults that go through this, but like I said, it is up to you of how you allow the past to effect you.
I have leaved it way to well to know this, and I have concealed a lot of Romanian orphans who have gone through this for years. A person is not going to just tell you how they are felling or what they are going through unless you understand them and have gone through it to be able to feel the same pain as they do. I had to open up my story to explain what I went through and how I felt about my life, in order for them to open up to me. I loved it when kids, teenagers and young adults opened up to me once they saw that they were not the only one's to have gone through the suffering.
I wanted to help and inspire as many as I could for them to realize that life has a lot more to offer then to dwell on our past. Its time we realize that if it were not for adoption we would have either been placed onto the streets, an old folks home, or even dead. We were rescued, and now we must remember where we came from and look into the present of how far we come because of great families who cared and loved you from the moment they saw you.
remember this, there are many kids, teens and adulds suffering a lot worse then your suffering now, so instead of thinking oh poor me, do something good with your life and lend a helping hand to those crying out for freedom as you once did. Be role model for others and try to understand others who continue to struggle in life.
